Get That Much Needed Sleep

     Do you like to sleep in total darkness?? Must you sleep during the day during daylight hours?? Are you often disturbed by the T.V. light and noise??? Well I may have the item that is just for you. It is the Bedtime Bliss Bamboo & Cotton Sleep Mask sold by Deluxe Buys on Amazon.

     My problem nowadays is simply that I have a crazy messed up sleep schedule. I go to bed between 11-12 oclock at night.  I get up at 3 am to go to my son's house to get in the bed with the grandbabies. At 9am I get up and bring the kids over to Mamaw's house. Then at 11 their momma comes and takes them home. So at around 12-1 pm, I am ready for a nap. Boy am I ready for a nap.

     Needless to say at mid-day everyone in the house is awake. The t.v. is on and the volume up. AND the sun is shining brightly through the windows. Yes that makes it extremely hard for me to sleep. So I was more than willing to review this mask, hoping that maybe I could rest better when I got the chance to nap.

     When the mask arrived it was boxed nicely for gifting if you wish. I opened the package and was pleasantly surprised. It included the mask, Moldex ear plugs (one set) and a nice little carrying case for traveling. When folded and placed into the case it can easily be carried with you in a purse, suitcase, in the car, or just a nice place to keep it clean at home.

     The mask is purple in color (isn't that just lovely) and is made of comfortable bamboo and cotton. It has a velcro closure in the back which gives you a little adjustment room, but I didn't need to adjust the elastic band fit my head just right. The mask has contoured eye covers to allow for total freedom of eye movement. It is designed to provide for total blackout for a restful sleep. It will not smudge your makeup if you fall asleep with it (which you should not do), but if you do it won't smudge.

     When I actually took a nap and put it to the test, I was pleased with the results. Now, it says total blackout, however I did have a small amount of light (not enough to bother) to pass through around the nose. However, when I closed my eyes I saw not even slight ray of light. I tried in the ear plugs and they blocked the biggest portion of the noise of the t.v. (Not all of it but most of it). But, before I went to sleep I removed the ear plugs, just because I didn't like the way they felt in my ears and it was aggravating me causing me to take longer to fall asleep. Some people may use them, but I simply chose not to.

       I fell asleep pretty quickly after I removed the ear plugs. I slept solid without being bothered by any light. The mask was comfortable and stayed in place even though I toss and turn when I sleep. It was the best daytime nap I had experienced in quite some time. I actually slept a couple hours and woke up feeling energized. So for me the mask is a hit. My mother always wears them and swears by them, now I know momma was a smart woman.  

     Now like I said it has its own little storage bag to keep it clean. However, when it does need cleaned just hand wash in cold water and lay on a towel to air dry. Can't get much easier, than that.
